mennonites at the zoo

mennonites at the zoo

A fleeting moment at the Brookfield (Chicago) Zoo; I came around the corner and here's this group of Mennonites looking at the Giraffes, and the Giraffes were looking at me. I had about a split second to raise the camera to my eye and only got this one picture before a big group of people walked between me and the Mennonites. Then the Mennonites moved on to the next group of animals.

I love the expression of the girl on the left who has caught me taking their picture. They probably wouldn't like me taking their picture, but as I learned as a punk-rock skateboarding teenager: if you go out in public and you look very different, people are going to look at you funny and occasionally take your picture.
