night clouds

night clouds

For the past few months, I've been a admirer the long night exposures of Bob over at No Traces. So I decided to try out a few of my own. Here's a 25 second exposure taken around 11:30 pm over Round Lake in the Nicolet National Forest of Northern Wisconsin.

North of Wabeno, WI
25 seconds @ f/11 - 800 ISO
Canon 300D/Canon EF-S 18–55mm

I especially loved the slideshow, Brad! Thanks for all the great images. I visit your site often and I always enjoy the moment of peace your pictures seem to bring me in a busy work day. Here's to a 2005 full of more wonderful images!

Brad -- really nice image -- love the sky -- it's just great... I might suggest you open up a bit -- say to f/5.6 or even f/4 --- try to shoot at low ISO's -- if you can, ISO 100 or 200 will work great -- you'll get a smoother result with less noise.... the composition and subject of this image is really outstanding -- and I love the reflected sky in the water! Nice job!
