waiting for ice cream
So, last night was a typical Sunday night. Then the phone rang and it was for Zach. Grandma and Grandpa were calling to see if Zach wanted to go out for ice cream. Within moments, he's hung up the phone, grabbed his jacket, put on his shoes, and is waiting by the window for grandma and grandpa to show up.
So these are from the outside, looking in while Nic and Zach wait. I have a real hard time grasping how quickly he's changing. Just 3 years ago he couldn't even roll over, and now he beats me at UNO and sends people email.
Technical note: I could've put my polarizer filter on and cut the glare on the window, but I liked the my reflection very subtle completing the family photo and of the sunset behind me. Also, I didn't feel like losing a couple f-stops with the polarizer and changing ISO.

Hey there, You. Great series of Nic and Zach. Can't wait to see you all in a couple weeks. L's surgery is tomorrow, so I'll call Jan as soon as we know anything. Finally started (just started) a blog through TypePad - richardrussell.blogs.com. The photos so far are a very small part of the "street performance" series I've been working on for the past year. Best to all, R&L

I love these.
The little ones do grow too fast. Zoe is about to get a tooth and I think I'm going to cry. Teeth are so grown up!

This is one of the best series I've seen in a long time -- and my "favorite of the day" -- I've really enjoyed your work (and found you by way of the great and powerful Houser) =)
