lobster buoys
In Maine, every Lobsterman has his own color coded buoys so that they can identify their lobster trap.
Another interesting factiod: a restaurant in Maine where you can eat fresh lobster is called a "Lobster Pound." Weird...

It's always neat to see what visitors to our state (most of us lump the lot of you as "flat-landers, no offense") find as unique. You mean EVERYONE doesn't go to the lobster pound for lobster? Now that's weird. Where DO you all go for fresh lobster. And you'd better not reply "Red Lobster".
If anyone reading this has a fetish for lobster - really - then you haven't tasted lobster until you've tasted Maine lobster. And not that crap they try to pull off as Maine lobster. I work across the street from the docks, and if you want REAL Maine lobster overnighted to you fresh, check out - http://www.ilovemainelobster.com/
