bug macro

IMG_2775.jpg

So the other night I was walking in the back door of the house, barefoot. The all of a sudden I fell something bite the side of my foot and hang on, lo and behold it what this fairly large bug hanging on to my foot while I hop around, pogo style, trying to get it off.

And here's the part that makes my brain spin, my first thought was "cool bug, I can take some macro shots" instead of wondering if this thing is going to kill me. So I put it in a little mason jar and sealed the lid tight. The thing took THREE DAYS to die! No air, no food, no water. Weird.

A little gross, but very nice. I love macro shots of the details we would otherwise miss or ignore. This guy looks so.. juicy. (Thought I would add to the gross factor.)

Looks like something out of a Japanese horror movie. ;)

All artists must suffer for their art, but that's just freakin' scary! Great macro, though.

BUT HOW IS YOUR FOOT??? Very cool photo - looks really freaky on the screen of my Treo 650.

Do you need the name of a good exterminator?

That's just really scary. Great macro, very closeup. I'm no fan of bugs, but that sounds like an awful way to die. Why didn't you let it go somewhere?
